HIGHER EDUCATION
Kilgore College is an accredited public two-year community college that has met the academic and workforce needs of East Texas since 1937. The college offers 138 academic majors, has an enrollment of around 6,000 students and employs 147 teachers–30 of whom have doctorate degrees.
TECHNICAL & SPECIALTY TRAINING
Kilgore Advanced Technology Center
The Center is a joint project between Kilgore College, KEDC and area industries and will take the skills learned at an academic level and transition them to a practical shop environment. Kilgore College has a respected basic welding certification program. The center will build on that program and deliver specific advanced training and experience.
ETPA is a part of Kilgore College’s Department of Protective Services, a division of the Business, Technology, and Public Services Division. The other parts of the Protective Services Department are the Criminal Justice academic transfer AA/AS degree program and the Criminal Justice AAS workforce degree program. The East Texas Police Academy is dedicated to serving the pre-service and in-service training needs of the officers, agencies, and communities of Northeast Texas.
